An integrated system for IKS folding doors. An aluminum profile mounts to the top of the wardrobe and houses a sliding carriage with a rotating arm. Doors screw to the arm and fold to a 160° opening, paired with IKS 180° hinges and an aluminum folding hinge placed between the two doors.
Carriage-and-Arm Folding Mechanism
The Plus mechanism integrates with the IKS hinged door system to create folding wardrobe doors. An aluminum profile mounts to the top of the wardrobe and houses a sliding carriage equipped with a rotating arm. Door movement is controlled by two CAMs – one CAM controls the opening sequence, the other controls the closing sequence – with built-in smoves to dampen each motion.
The system pairs with the IKS 180° hinge (IS-CE-180) at the cabinet edge and an aluminum folding hinge placed between the two doors. The carriage trolley uses 15 wheels for smooth lateral travel, and a tension spring can be set to one of three positions (high, medium, or low) to match the weight of the doors. The configuration produces a 160° opening, with a 32mm clearance between the wardrobe and the open door – enough to access drawers inside.
